40 women operating various forms of microbusinesses and 30 students from the host communities of Multisub Energy Limited in Warri North Local Government of Delta State, on Wednesday June 11, received financial support to strengthen their businesses and ease their educational pursuits.

The initiative, christened ‘Support for Women in Microenterprise (SWIM) and the Bursary Grants for Undergraduates’ was a collaborative effort between Multisub Energy Limited and Olure Host Communities Development Trust, OHCDT.

Fresh Angle International, can report that while the 40 women were empowered with N200,000 per person, each of the 30 students, went home with N150,000 as bursary, to assist them in defraying the cost of books and other educational materials.

While flagging off the presentation at Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, the Chairman/Managing Director of Multisub Energy Limited, Dr. Igho Okotete, commended the Olure Host Communities Development Trust, OHCDT for the impressive pace of their project delivery, noting that it was only three months ago that they gathered to commission the Trust’s inaugural quick-impact projects.

The projects, commissioned three months ago, included the furnishing and renovation of Abonkuwa Primary School and walkway projects at Eghoro community, as well as the installation of 70 solar streetlights across several communities in Ikeyan and Safa Ogbin.

Dr. Okotete posited that the Olure Host Communities Development Trust, OHCDT was consolidating on the approved 5-year community development plan, intended to directly support human capital development, through bursary grants to undergraduate students and financial support to women, to boost their respective trades and businesses.

The Multisub Energy Limited Boss, who was represented by the General Manager Administration and Corporate Social Responsibility of the company, Mr. Thomas Akagbosu, stressed that the SWIM empowerment, was for female entrepreneurs and women in the company’s host communities, running small and micro businesses.

He said: “When you empower a woman, you empower a nation. By supporting women with financial grants and business training, we are contributing to household income, economic resilience and overall community well-being.”

Our Principal Correspondent, reports that the initiatives were rooted in the needs’ assessment conducted by Multisub Energy Limited in its host communities.

Dr. Okotete, commend the Multisub Team and the Olure HCDT Team for their collaboration in bringing the projects to life.

The Chief Operating Officer of Multisub Energy Limited, Mr. Ena Agbro, in his goodwill message, commended the support and collaboration of OHCDT and the communities' leadership for the enabling environment and peace to operate.

Warri Regional Coordinator of Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, NUPRC, Chief (Engr.) Ogunnubi Benjamin, who was represented by Engr. Okundia Kingsley and Mrs. Akpojisheri Felicia, commended Multisub Energy Limited and Olure Host Communities Development Trust, for the support granted the women and youths, urging beneficiaries to make good use of the grants.

Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Festus Ashima, represented by Mr. Monday Ogboko, appreciated the indigenous company and OHCDT for the gesture, assuring the company of sustained enabling environment, saying Warri North is open for more investors.

Representatives of the women from Eghoro Community, Ughamiyemi Eyefuijirin and Ariri Patience from Ikeyan Community, lauded Multisub Energy Limited for the grant and scholarship support.

Officials of Multisub Energy Limited such as Mike Erhirhi, Chris Ashima, Pereji Kpele, and Ms. Madonna Iloba as well as representatives of the host communities; vis – a – vis Jonathan Ireye, Pa Joseph Oyibo Jakpa; Mr. Kenneth Atsedagho; Bemigho Ebosa; Mr. Benson Edekou; Laye Worwei; Chief Moses Donyabi and Timidi Ariri, were present during the ceremony.
