The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Warri South Chapter, has unveiled a free training programme for 20 youths in outdoor and indoor skills, with the aim of empowering the beneficiaries and ensuring sustainable wealth creation.
The outdoor training skills identified in the programme are; Onshore/Offshore Oil Drilling Technology, Crane Operator, Escalator Operation, Forklift Operation, Onshore/Offshore Rigging, Pipeline Welding, Plumbing/Fitting, Electrical Installation, Scaffolding, Rope Access, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Satellite Installation/AI Technology and Industrial Supervisory Safety, while the indoor training trade captured, includes; Catering and Hospitality, Fashion Design, Computer Training, Computer Engineering /Networking, Makeup and Gele, CCTV Installation, Website Design and Video Editing and Ankara: shoes, bags, bangles and belts.
Fresh Angle International’s Vivian Pori, reports that the initiative which was disclosed Monday June 30 by the Chairman of NYCN, Warri South Chapter, Comr. Destiny Noritsegho, during a general meeting of the NYCN, held in Warri, is part of activities lined up to mark 100days in office of the Comr. Noritsegho exco of Warri South.
This Newspaper understands that the 20 beneficiaries must be active members of the various groups that make up National Youth Council of Nigeria, Warri South Chapter.
Whilst noting that the trainees will be paid by NYCN Warri South and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment will give starter-packs to outstanding trainees, Comr. Noritsegho, added that Trade Test Certificate (Level 3&2) will be earned by the successful trainees at the end of the training.
As part of the 100days celebration, the NYCN office in Warri South will be commissioned Saturday July 5 and there would be a novelty football match between inmates of Nigeria Custodial Centre, Warri and members of NYCN, Warri South.
Comr. Noritsegho, reiterated his early resolve to commence the database project of all youths in Warri South Local Government Area, even as Comrade Ladan Abdullahi (Programme Officer) appreciated the NYCN Chairman, Comr. Destiny Noritsegho, “for good leadership.”
