Publisher of Warri Voice Newspaper, a frontline leading community newspaper in Delta State, Mr. Femi Odonmeta has called on Government at all levels to prevail on INEC to cancel the proposed recent ward delineation of Warri Federal Constituency for peace to reign.

He made this declaration in Warri today July 4, 2025, saying that from investigation carried out with facts and figures, the whole exercise is characterized with false information in favour of the ijaws.

“Looking at the INEC proposal carefully, it was discovered that some Itsekiri Communities were converted as Ijaw Communities while some communities from Edo and Ondo States were imposed as Ijaw Communities. Open Rivers and Creeks in the Area were also computed as Communities in favour of the Ijaws”, the Publisher stated.

He frowned at the sudden increase of the population of the Ijaws over the Itsekiris in the proposed exercise, stressing that, if the population of the Ijaws who are mainly settlers in the area are increasing arithmetically then the population of the Itsekiris who are the major stakeholders and owners of the vast area should increase geometrically.

Mr. Odonmeta appealed to the peace loving Itsekiri people to remain peaceful as INEC will do the needful, even as he called on Itsekiri politicians to come out openly and condemn the evil act of Chief Government Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo, in his bid to annex Itsekiri Communities like Ijaghala and Kantu to Ijaw Communities and changing the original names of some Itsekiri Communities to Ijaw names.

He said prominent Itsekiris such as the member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Hon. Godwin Ebosa, Hon. Evang. Michael Diden alias Ejele and a host of others should take the lead in this regard.
