The Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS and the Direction Générale des Finances Publiques, DGFIP, have pledged commitment to collaborate in areas such as joint training, digital tax tools, green taxation and French language capacity development.

Fresh Angle International, can report that the commitment, was part of the key highlights when the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, Zacch Adedeji PhD, received a team from the Direction Générale des Finances Publiques, DGFIP of France led by Amelie Verdier at the FIRS Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday July 8.

The visit was a significant milestone in the evolving collaboration between Nigeria and France in the area of tax administration.

It coincided with a pivotal transition in Nigeria’s tax system from the FIRS to the newly established Nigeria Revenue Service, NRS as part of a broader institutional reform anchored in the new Finance and Revenue laws.
