On the joyous occasion of his birthday, I, Inana, Public Relations Officer of Ughelli North Local Government Council, join the good people of Ughelli North and beyond to celebrate an exceptional leader, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo (KSC) – a chairman whose style of leadership has not only repositioned the council but also restored confidence in grassroots administration.
Since assuming office, Olorogun Egbo has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to transformational governance, guided by his belief in the philosophy of “elephant projects” – sustainable and people-centred initiatives that may take time to complete but whose impact endures across generations, as against “goat projects” that yield only temporary results.
Among his notable achievements are:
Construction of a new model Secretariat – ongoing
Ultra-modern Cottage Hospital – completed and awaiting commissioning
Customary Court – completed, to be commissioned
Revenue Reforms: Transparent systems ensuring accountability and boosting internally generated revenue
Community Peace & Engagement: Regular stakeholder meetings that bridge divides among communities and promote peace as the foundation of development
And other notable projects, both completed and ongoing, across the council area
Stakeholder Voices:
Mrs. Ejiro Okpako, a market leader at Otovwodo Market, testified: “For the first time in many years, we have a chairman who listens to traders. His reforms have reduced harassment and brought order to revenue collection. We are proud of him.”
Comr. Tega Orovwuje, a youth leader, added: “Chairman Egbo believes in projects that stand the test of time. His vision for youth empowerment and skills development gives many of us a reason to stay hopeful in Ughelli North.”
Chief Abraham Onovwakpo, a community elder, remarked: “Peace has returned to our communities because of his inclusive leadership. He is a man of dialogue and results.”
These voices reflect the consensus, that under Egbo’s watch, Ughelli North is experiencing a new dawn of purposeful leadership. From market women to artisans, traditional leaders to civil servants, the message is clear: Olorogun Jaro Egbo is proactive, accessible, and results-driven.
Today, as he marks another year of life, we do not only celebrate his birthday but also the values he represents - resilience, integrity, and dedication to service. His journey as Executive Chairman continues to stand as a model for others, reminding us that local government leadership, when handled with vision, can truly transform communities.
On behalf of the Council, staff, and the people of Ughelli North, I, Inana, proudly felicitate with our dynamic chairman. We pray for greater strength, wisdom, and long life as he continues to drive development at the grassroots.
Happy Birthday, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo (KSC) – the people’s chairman, the elephant project leader, and the pride of Ughelli North!
