Okorodudu hosts SSYA, NFSS

The Executive Director Projects, EDP, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu on Tuesday August 26, played host to the South -South Youth Assembly, SSYA and the Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS at the Commission's Head Office in Warri.

 

Dr. Okorodudu while addressing the South -South Youth Assembly, called on Youth across the State to support the laudable infrastructural and human capital development of the MORE agenda of the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori aimed at placing the State as an economic hub of Nigeria.

 

"Thank you for the support you have been giving to our amiable Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. I want to tell you that any support for him is a support for me. I have been an integral part of Sheriff Oborevwori Political Movement right from the unset .

 

As you have come to identify with me, I urge you to carry the message of his successes to our people in the grassroots and continue to galvanize support for him," he said.

 

Speaking further, he urged the Youth to imbibe the spirit of commitment and loyalty to service, noting that without the Youth, there is no nation.

 

"Youth are the most vibrant segment of every human existence. They constitute the larger work force of every country," he affirmed.

 

Earlier, the spokesperson of the South -South Youth Assembly, Comr. Lucky Otidi had informed the EDP that they came to align with him and appreciate his contributions to humanitarian services, stating that the essence of the grassroots mobilisations for the Governor, is to be pro-active and to ensure that the government's laudable infrastructural and human capital development is disseminated to the people at the grassroots.

 

"We want to as much as possible, correct the narrative of the wrong perception. We shall continue to inform our people of the good intentions of His Excellency," he added.

 

In another development, the Executive Director Projects, DESOPADEC, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu also received some members of the Nigerian Forest Security Services NFSS led by Rev. Joseph Boyid who informed the EDP that they came to solicit support from DESOPADEC to enable them purchase some equipment that will enhance their job.

 

"We are here Sir, to solicit support from the Commission to enable us purchase some equipment such as walkie talkies, vehicle and other materials that will enhance our duties," he said.

 

 According to him, the Commission has been in the vanguard of enhancing development across the State hence, their decision to solicit support from the EDP.

 

Responding, Dr. Okorodudu admonished them for their bold step in reaching out to the Commission for assistance but however urged them to pass their request through the Managing Director/CEO DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor for the needed attention, saying that such a request can only be granted by the Managing Director/ CEO.

 

The highlight of the visits was the presentation of a letter of award of humanitarian services to Dr. Okorodudu.

Elliott Olokor, Head, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation PME; Engr. Collins Okorodudu, Technical Assistant to the EDP; Engr. Onokpasa SA to EDP; Qs Oyimi Williams, Head, Housing Department; Engr. Bright PA, to EDP amongst others.
