In a significant show of unity and support, a coalition of Ndokwa Youth Generals on Thursday September 4, paid a courtesy and solidarity visit to the Managing Director/CEO of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor at his Ogunu residence in Warri.

Reacting to their speech, Chief Ochonogor thanked the delegation for their visit and assured them that the Ndokwa nation remains a strategic part of the Commission’s mandate and reiterated his commitment to equity, inclusion and the sustainable development of all oil-producing communities.

“I am deeply humbled by your visit and your words of encouragement. We are here to serve, not to be served. Be assured that the Ndokwa region, like every other oil producing area, will get its fair share of development. Our mission is one of legacy, impact and empowerment,” he said.

Led by Hon. High Chief Chukwutem Nwogor, APC State Senatorial Youth Leader, Delta North, the delegation comprising youth leaders from various Ndokwa communities expressed their appreciation for the ongoing developmental strides being championed by Chief Ochonogor since his assumption of office.

Addressing the MD earlier, High Chief Nwogor noted that the visit was borne out of a shared desire to engage constructively with DESOPADEC and to commend the MD for what he described as a “renewed sense of purpose, transparency, and inclusiveness” in the Commission’s operations.

“For the first time in a long while, our people are beginning to feel the impact of DESOPADEC projects. We see roads being rehabilitated, schools receiving attention, and youth empowerment schemes gaining traction. We are here today to say thank you and to pledge our support,” High Chief Nwogor stated.

He also urged Chief Ochonogor to continue prioritizing the Ndokwa nation in the Commission’s developmental plans, stressing the historical marginalization the area has suffered despite being a key contributor to the state’s oil and gas revenue.

Also speaking, Chief Nzete Anselem a.k.a Igwe Dubai stated that Chief Ochonogor has always been an astute politician and a notable personality who has stood out because of his achievement in Ndokwa Nation, urging the MD not to allow himself to be distracted from the good work he is doing because most times, distractions are politically motivated, adding that the good people of Ndokwa nation are highly aware of his good deeds.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties agreeing to maintain open lines of communication and cooperation to further the collective interests of the Ndokwa people and Delta State at large.
