The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi State Council, has nominated Alhaji Bello Mutari, Chief Executive Officer of Mutari Bello Integrated Group (MBIG), for its prestigious Award of Excellence.
Mutari, a Nigerian entrepreneur, philanthropist, and entertainment promoter, was recognized for his outstanding philanthropic initiatives across Kogi Central through the MBIG Foundation.
In a statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Alhaji Ademu Saidu, and Secretary, Comrade Segun Oyenibi, the nomination was described as a reward for Mutari’s giant strides in business, philanthropy, and youth empowerment.
Established in 2021, MBIG has expanded into diverse sectors, including entertainment through its record label, MBIG Music, which has discovered and promoted young talents such as Maleeq Souls and King Obilo.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the NUJ noted that Mutari’s interventions have improved the well-being of people in Kogi Central Senatorial District, especially through regular empowerment programs.
The award will be formally presented at the grand finale of the 2025 NUJ Press Week, themed “Kogi State’s Solid Minerals: How Media Can Drive Development.” The event is scheduled for September 25, 2025, at the EdgeDrive Hotel, Lokoja, by 10:00 a.m.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, will serve as Special Guest of Honour, while His Royal Majesty, the Ohimegye of Igu Kingdom, Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, will be the Royal Father of the Day.
