The Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Kome Okpobor on Tuesday 30th September, received a delegation of grassroots mobilizers in his office at the Commission’s Headquarters.
Led by Mrs. Bunde, daughter of the Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba, the visit was in solidarity with the MORE Agenda.
In his remarks, Chief Okpobor said he would speak with the Executive Chairman of Isoko North LGA, Hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba, who he described as a dependable leader, noting that, “Hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba is someone who, when he stands for you, he stands for you. He does not change his mind.”
He thus, pledged to support the group in full if Hon. Ogorugba’s dream is in tandem with the ideals of the group, stressing his political and personal alignment with Ogorugba.
“I will support this group to thrive because Hon. Ogorugba is my trusted ally and my brother in politics who believes in the vision of my boss, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. I will speak with him and if he has this dream, I must work with him to make it grow,” Chief Okpobor said.
Emphasizing that the group’s activities must remain firmly rooted in loyalty to the State’s leadership, Chief Okpobor said, “This group you are about to kick off must be centered around our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori because he put me here. He is my boss and our collective boss and this group must operate under his administration’s umbrella. The paramount thing is His Excellency the Governor and our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Every other thing is secondary. When you are addressing people, it should not come from personal interest,” he added.
Commending the scope of the initiative, Chief Okpobor described it as impressive. Saying, “I am happy to work with you. I am happy with your vision and I will support you full time,” he affirmed.
The State Coordinator, Mrs. Alero Tedeye, had earlier expressed gratitude to Chief Okpobor for granting them audience, stating that the mobilization network spans all 25 local government areas in Delta State and not limited to the Isoko nation.
