Ereyitomi, Emami commit to maiden Warri International Film Festival

The Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi and the Ologbotsere of Warri, Chief Ayirimi Emami, have pledged commitment to the success of the maiden Warri International Film Festival.

Fresh Angle International, can report that the duo gave the assurance Tuesday November 11, at their different offices in Warri, Delta State, when the Founder of Warri International Film Festival, Mr. Alex Eyengho, paid them working visits.

 

 

Whilst noting that Warri had been in the forefront of the creative industry, apart from being the commercial nerve centre of Delta State, Chief Ereyitomi, commended Mr. Eyengho, for trying to showcase Warri to the world and help to change the narrative of the Oil City, through the Warri International Film Festival.

God will strengthen us to see how we can support those who want to better the lives of people of this constituency”, the Federal lawmaker, stated.

On his part, Ologbotsere Ayirimi Emami, told Mr. Eyengho: “Anything that would bring Warri back again, gets my support. We have no other home than Warri, hence my support is guaranteed.

“We are not amongst those that claim Warri, without putting anything on ground in the city. With time, water will find its level.”

Mr. Eyengho, while speaking during the visits, noted that Chief Ayirimi Emami and Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, have been great supporters of the creative industry, just as he disclosed that he has been beneficiary of the support granted by Chiefs Emami and Ereyitomi.

The foremost Journalist and Filmmaker, stated: “Film production, stage plays started in Warri, but has moved to Asaba. Warri used to be the capital of the entertainment industry in Delta State. When it was Bendel, it was Benin and Warri. You hardly find any part of the creative industry outside Warri, that you won't find a Warri boy or girl, doing well.

“The essence of Warri International Film Festival, is to attract people from far and wide. I had postponed it for about two years. For this maiden edition, we are relying on family and friends, hoping to get brand support in subsequent editions. This festival, is the calendar of film festivals in Nigeria

“We had to come knock on your doors (referring to Chief Ereyitomi and Chief Emami) and solicit for your support, for this humongous project. You (Chief Ereyitomi and Chief Emami) are to get lifetime achievement awards, for supporting the creative industry.”

Recall that Fresh Angle International, had reported that the first Warri International Film Festival, will hold in the Oil-City of Warri, Delta State, from Monday December 8, through Friday December 12.
