Yagba East Gets Security Boost and Market Empowerment as Hon. Obaro Commissions Key Projects

The Member representing Yagba East Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Obaro, has commissioned a series of projects aimed at boosting security, empowering women, and improving local infrastructure.

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the projects include patrol vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies, lock-up shops at Itedo Makutu, cash support grants for market women, classroom renovations at Community Secondary School, Isanlu, and drainage construction in flood-prone areas.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Itedo-Makutu Central Garage, Isanlu, Hon. Obaro said the projects were part of his broader vision to promote people-centered governance through economic empowerment, improved education, and enhanced community security.

“Today’s event is not just a ceremony; it is a statement of commitment, responsibility, and people-centered governance,” he said. “It reflects our dedication to empowering our people economically while ensuring their safety, education, and well-being.”

On economic empowerment, the Lawmaker noted that the newly constructed lock-up shops will provide traders and artisans with safe and conducive business spaces, while the cash support grants will assist market women in expanding their businesses and supporting their families.

“This grant is not a handout; it is a hand-up, an opportunity for women to grow their businesses, support their families, and strengthen our local economy."

On education and infrastructure, Hon. Obaro said the renovation of classrooms and drainage construction were direct responses to community needs, aimed at improving the quality of life and protecting residents from seasonal flooding.

In a remark, Chairman of Yagba East Local Government, Hon. Joshua Dare Monday, commended Hon. Obaro for his developmental strides and assured of the council’s continued partnership in advancing the welfare and safety of residents.
