Warri: Ubeji Regains  Aesthetic Look  as Warri South Concludes Clean - Up Of Road Entrance
Ubeji Road, after the evacuation exercise

The aesthetic look of Ubeji in Warri, has been restored following the conclusion of evacuation of sand and weeds along the walkways and median of the dual carriageway in  the densely populated Ubeji.

The Head of Environment Department, Warri South Local Government Council, Mrs.  Stella Omosibo Mode, told Fresh Angle International Monday night, that the strategic clean - up exercise, which started Thursday November 13, was concluded Monday November 17.

Apart from being the main entrance to Ubeji, the road also leads to neighbouring communities such as Egbokodo, Ifiekporo,  Ijala - Ikeren and Aja - Etan.

Mrs. Mode, alongside other staff of the Environment Department, thanked Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, for the enablement.

According to her, Comrade Agbateyiniro's  sustained synergy with  leadership of the various communities in Warri South Local Government Area, makes the task of the Council environment development , easier.

Whilst noting that the Council will not relent in its daily cleaning of major roads and streets in Warri, Mrs. Mode cautioned residents of Warri against indiscriminate disposal of waste  along the roads and streets.

Mrs. Mode added:"  Residents should imbibe the culture of always maintaining the front of their store to the middle  of the road, as stipulated by the public health laws, which mandate them to remove debris, weed,  sand,   and any other nuisance, defacing   the aesthetics  of their surroundings.

"They should also put away pests detrimental to public health. Let me use this opportunity to thank Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Femi Okorodiden, for his excellent coordination and consistent resourcefulness, geared towards a cleaner and greener Warri South Local Government Area."
