Warri, the boisterous commercial centre of Delta State, will come alive on December 13 as Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) Indigenous Contractors Forum hosts peace concert as part of efforts to attract investors to the oil rich state.
Chairman of the forum, Engr. Ogie Samson, said in a statement that the peace concert will allign with the end of year party and Thanksgiving Service of the forum, organized to promote peace, engender unity and attract prospective investors to DESOPADEC mandate areas.
"The peace concert, end of year party and Thanksgiving is coming out of necessity due to economic retrogression and social challenges that crises has brought to the DESOPADEC mandate areas", he said.
Ogie observed that many investors fled DESOPADEC mandate areas because of insecurities which is on the highest level, lack of trust and misplaced priorities that leads to economic frustration hence the topic of the day.
"We feed the nation without us enjoying from our God given blessings because we are yet to understand that God has placed different ethnic nationalities into the DESOPADEC oil rich region for the enjoyment of colourful ethnicity.
"Peace and security is what attracts industrialization and development. No matter the amount of money you earn in building houses and buying properties, if there is no tenant to occupy it, the properties and houses built will definitely amount to nothing.
"We cannot enjoy this life without peace and unity. A true hero is not the one who introduce war, but a true hero is the one who encourages peace and unity", said.
Ogie noted that DESOPADEC Indigenous Contractors Forum are indigenes who are investors that made up the DESOPADEC mandate areas and that investors need a peaceful atmosphere for businesses to grow as "we also need an atmosphere for peace and unity.
"We are using this medium to invite both royal fathers, indigenes and investors to come for the Peace Concert concert/End of Year Party party come December 13th at 11am and December 14th 2025 for the Thanksgiving", stated.
Ogie disclosed that the Royal Fathers invited are royal fathers from the DESOPADEC mandate areas, representatives from government house, DESOPADEC management, board members and other dignitaries
