Itsekiri leaders in APC push for Delta State Chairmanship position ahead party congress

Itsekiri leaders in the All Progressives Congress, APC, have resolved to push for the party's chairmanship position in Delta State, ahead of the forthcoming congress of the ruling APC.

Fresh Angle International can report that they reached the resolution during a meeting of Itsekiri leaders of APC in Warri Federal Constituency, held in Warri, Delta State, Sunday December 14.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the meeting, a chieftain of the party, Chief ( Dr ) Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, said the position was a collective decision of APC leaders of Itsekiri extraction, present during the meeting.

Chief Otumara, reaffirmed the position of Itsekiri leaders in APC to back the re - election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in the 2027 general polls.

The leaders, also committed to building unity amongst themselves, noting that the overall interest of Itsekiri Nation , should take prominence.

Elected and appointed politicians of Itsekiri extraction at the National and State levels, including Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, Hon. David Tonwe, the members representing Warri South Constituency 1 and Warri North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly as well as Chief Ayirimi Emami, Delta South APC Chairman, Mr. Austin Oribioye and the party chairmen in Warri South, Warri South - West and Warri North Local Government Areas, were amongst party leaders present during the meeting.

The Sunday meeting by the Itsekiri APC leaders, was the second in the series of meetings, planned to foster unity and strengthen the party in Warri Federal Constituency.
