The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Airport chapter Omagwa Rivers state has marked its end -of -the year party with pomp and pageantry even as the Chapter Chairman, Mr. Charles Onyema scored the Customs Area controller, in charge of Customs Area 1, Command, Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku high on Stakeholder Engagement and Trade Facilitation.
Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the event, Friday December 19, 2025, Mr Onyema said it has been customary for ANLCA as a welfarist association, to organize an end of the year party to entertain their members and make them happy against all odds.
"Right from our Pioneer Chapter Chairman, Chief Henry Njoku even to my predecessor, it has been our tradition to make our members happy. You know our association is a welfarist one. And apart from giving them food,we make sure we distribute rice and other foodstuffs including cash."
He continued, "some of them you are seeing here don't have enough food in their houses because our business has witnessed a lull ,but we have to carter for them so that they would be proud to say they belong to an association and be happy" he added.
"Without them, I can't be here" he added.
Speaking on the relationship between ANLCA, Customs and other agencies at the Airport, the ANLCA Chieftain emphasized that his association has been enjoying a very cordial relationship between other agencies, organizations and every stakeholder at the airport.
"You can see what is happening today, everybody is working together and our operations here are seamless" he noted.
Talking on his achievements so far, he hinted that his achievements for the past Eight months, he assumed office would speak for themselves for everyone to see.
He stated that apart from creating a very robust business environment for his members and other stakeholders to operate, he has taken a decision to build and commission a befitting ANLCA Secretariat which would be completed soon and be commissioned by the ANLCA National president, Mr. Emenike Nwokeoji.

“That Land we are building the secretariat was bought by Chief Henry Njoku during his tenure.
However, other chapters Chairmen before me have contributed immensely towards that project but I ‘m here to tell you that the construction is 70% completion to the glory of God."
"We will complete it in no distant time and call our amiable National President to commission it "Onyema said.
Speaking on Customs Area 1 Command Controller, the ANLCA Chieftain extolled her ability for stakeholder engagement and seamless trade facilitation.
His words:"I can tell you since Comptroller Salamatu Atuluku assumed office at Customs Area 1, Port Harcourt Command, it has been a different ball game, facilitating trade and increasing Revenue generation."

"You know when you have a woman in charge of an affair, food will not lack, compassion will not lack and motherly love will not lack"
"If you saw her yesterday during the stakeholder engagement and get-together, you will understand what I mean.I don't know where she draws her strength and inspiration from, in short I see her as a man in woman's form.”
"She is very wonderful in stakeholder engagement, Revenue generation and Trade Facilitation.
Even as Ibeto Seaport and Terminals is no longer under Area 1, customs Command, she has equally done tremendously well “he insisted.
Projecting into the future, Mr. Onyema said, the year 2026 would be better for his members adding that he has advised them on financial discipline which he said would help them during the trying period.
"Our members should imbibe the spirit of financial discipline that is what helped us in organizing this event".
"I know next year will be better for all of us.”
"And I believe our people from South- South and South -East regions will begin to understand the economic importance of this Airport by patronising it."
To the Managing Director/ CEO Sudary Global Limited, Chief Sunny Ezihuo, it was a wonderful event.
"It has been our tradition but today is exceptional, he added more colour to it and we enjoyed it." Chief Ezihuo said.
He applauded the chapter Chairman Mr. Charles Onyema describing him as a man with capacity and capability insisting that he was just Eight months in office but has done very well, noting that by the time he finished his tenure, things would change.
He said the association has been taking care of their members including those that are sick while admonishing them to trust in God for a better next year 2026.
Looking into the next year, he said he saw a better and brighter year ahead.
The event witnessed a lot of entertainment and display of dance by joyous members who said they thanked God for taking them so far in 2025, against all odds and were eager to step into 2026.
