NDDC to train N/Delta youths on CNG conversion, debars beneficiaries of its previous skills empowerment initiatives


The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has announced plans to train youths of the nine states in Niger Delta, in Compressed Natural Gas, CNG Vehicle Conversion Programme.

The Commission, in a statement released on its X handle Monday January 26, excluded beneficiaries of its previous skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programmes, noting that applications must be submitted online within ten days from the date of the publication.’

In the statement which was credited to its management, NDDC, stressed that participants who should be indigenes of any of the nine Niger Delta States, must have minimum qualification of SSCE/WAEC in Science related subjects, OND(Sciences) Trade Test Certificate from any recognized institution and are required to be between ages 18 and 35.

ABOUT THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Vehicle Conversion Training Programme, which aligns with the mandate of the Niger Delta Development Commission, is aimed at providing beneficiaries with veritable skills in Autogas Conversion Technology.

The programme amongst other benefits, will contribute to the development of a more reliable and sustainable transportation sector, which will directly stimulate economic growth through job creation and increased demand for Autogas specialists, to further aid in the reduction of harmful emissions in line with NDDC's commitment to environment conservation and sustainability.

GENERAL CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

1. The participants must be indigenes from any of the nine (9) states in the Niger Delta Region.

2. The participant must have a minimum qualification of SSCE/WAEC in Science related subjects, OND(Sciences) Trade Test Certificate from any recognized institution.

3. Other recognized technical qualification related to automotive, mechanical or allied trades. 4. Fresh graduates in engineering courses within the Niger Delta, with passion and clear vision for CNG Conversion Technology may also apply

5. Age: 18yrs - 35Yrs.

METHOD OF APPLICATION FOR ALL PROGRAMMES

Interested applicants are requested to click on the following link: skills.nddc.gov.ng to register their interest to participate in the programme.

PLEASE NOTE AS FOLLOWS:

1. Application will only be received online through the provided NDDC web portal.

2. The applicant is expected to complete the form once as multiple applications will attract automatic disqualification.

3. Only selected candidates will be contacted and they will be required to produce original copies of their educational certificates, Local Government Identification certificates, etc., before the final selection.

4. Beneficiaries of previous NDDC skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programmes are not eligible to apply.

5. Applications should be submitted on-line within Ten (10) days from the date of this publication.
