Ahead of this month environmental sanitation exercise coming up Saturday January 31, Delta State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Jamani Tommy Ejiro, has urged Chairmen of the 25 local government areas in the state to set up Mobile Court, to prosecute sanitation offenders.
The Commissioner, in a statement released Wednesday January 28, through the Director, Sanitation & Waste Management in the Ministry of Environment, Mrs. Atigan F.A., noted that vehicular and human movements, will be restricted across the State, between the hours of 7am -10am, when the exercise will last.
The statement, noted that residents should be sensitized to clean their environment and continue the practice of personal hygiene, stop indiscriminate dumping of waste, register with accredited PSPs for timely evacuation of waste, fumigate their premises, clear overgrown vegetation and desilt their drainages.
