The Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Inc; five-day free medical outreach for Itsekiris resident in Warri and Sapele, which reportedly began Monday January 26, will end Friday January 30, Fresh Angle International, has gathered.

The medical outreach, which started simultaneously in Warri and Sapele, focuses on cataracts operation, school children deworming, blood pressure monitoring and diabetes screening as well as education.

Matron Sophia Oghomienor, who was in charge of the diabetes screening and blood pressure monitoring section, gave a detailed lecture on diabetes and blood pressure, stressing majorly on stress management and lifestyle adjustments to prevent avoidable illness.

Speaking, Dr. Okorodudu, founder, Africa Cataract and Eye Foundation said that the cataract patients booked for surgery will undergo their operations at First Baptist Church, Mission Road, Sapele as well as the deworming of primary school children, starting from January 28th through January 30th.

Dr. Okorodudu, who has been partnering with Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Inc. over the years, to carry out cataract surgery, appreciated the President of the group, Dr. Mejebi Mayor, her Executives and the entire members of Ugbajo Itsekiri USA for their relentless efforts all these years in giving back to their people back home through their medical mission.

The Ophthalmologist thanked the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III for his support and fatherly role to better the lives of his people and the international recognition he has brought to Warri kingdom.

Addressing the participants, President of Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Inc., Dr. Mejebi Mayor who was ably represented by the immediate past Vice President of the diaspora Group, Mr. Lucky Omiretsuli Mayor, appreciated the people for their patience and zeal to be perfectly healthy.

Dr. Mayor averred that they decided to include diabetes screening and blood pressure monitoring this time around, based on the rampant neglect of people to go for regular checkups which has resulted to early death in some cases that would have been detected and treated on time.

Dr. Mayor thanked the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, for his good and exemplary leadership and his constant support for Ugbajo Itsekiri USA over the years, saying that the group is committed to giving back to their people back home as they will be embarking on another medical mission in the coming months.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mrs. Josephine Omatseyinone thanked members of Ugbajo Itsekiri USA for always remembering them and putting smiles on their faces.

The participants were given bag packs containing Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Paracetamol and rice as take home.
