Clarify speculations, claiming you directed the hand over of ward chairmanship positions to new members – APC stakeholders tell Oborevwori

Some leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Gbokoda Ward 2, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, have appealed to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to clarify speculations that he handed down a directive that all Ward Chairmanship positions in the state, be handed over to new APC members, who decamped from the PDP.

The stakeholders; Ama Omatsuli, Paul Awala, Kinsley Omamogho, Engr Olley Endurance and Richard Oritsetimeyin Mayuku, in the statement made available to Fresh Angle International, Monday February 9, noted that the clarification became necessary, in order to restore calm, strengthen party unity, and prevent further misinformation.

Whilst commending Governor Oborevwori for what they described as his outstanding leadership and the remarkable infrastructural development projects across Delta State, they said the “disturbing rumors are being circulated within Warri North and gradually spreading to other Local Government Areas.”

The statement, which was addressed to Governor Oborevwori, averred inter-alia: “Good afternoon, Your Excellency, The Executive Governor of Delta State.

“We write through this medium to sincerely appreciate and commend Your Excellency for your outstanding leadership and the remarkable infrastructural development projects across Delta State.

“The people of Warri North Local Government Area, alongside the entire APC family in Warri North, deeply acknowledge and appreciate your good works.

“Indeed, you have performed creditably, and we are hopeful that even more developmental strides will be achieved as you approach your second term. Be assured, Your Excellency, that we remain steadfast in our support because of your visible achievements.

“Your Excellency Sir, it has come to our attention that certain disturbing rumors are being circulated within Warri North and gradually spreading to other Local Government Areas.

“These rumors, allegedly being propagated by some former PDP members, who recently joined the APC, claim that Your Excellency has directed that all Ward Chairman positions be handed over to these new members.

“Sir, we firmly believe that this information is false and does not reflect your leadership style or commitment to fairness, unity, and internal democracy within the party.

“However, the rapid spread of this rumor is capable of causing unnecessary tension, confusion, and disunity within the APC if not promptly addressed.

“In view of this, we respectfully seek Your Excellency’s intervention to publicly debunk and clarify this falsehood, in order to restore calm, strengthen party unity, and prevent further misinformation.

“We sincerely thank Your Excellency for your commendable leadership and developmental achievements.

“The APC family in Gbokoda Ward 2 Warri North Local Government Area, remains fully loyal and committed to supporting your second-term ambition. In order for this ambition not to be truncated in Gbokoda ward 2 Warri North Local Government Area, Koko, we appeal to you to call the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon Issac Wilkie and Chief Omolubi Newuwumi, to order. They should allow consensus congress as stipulated by the party leadership. May God continue to bless and guide you, Sir.”
