Pipeline Surveillance: Okporoko tackles Gbemre over attacks on Tompolo, Tonlagha
Ambassador (Chief) Godwin Okporoko

President General of Owahwa Sub-Clan, OML34, Ambassador (Chief) Godwin Okporoko has faulted what he described as malicious and misleading publication by Zik Gbemre against Chief Government Ekpemuplo alias Tompolo, and Mr. Mathew Tonlagha over the pipeline surveillance contract.

Okporoko, Executive Assistant on Security Matters to Governor of Delta State, in a statement on Tuesday, said, Gbemre’s comment was unnecessary and should be disregarded.

According to him, “ Award of the pipeline surveillance contract to Tantita Security Services Limited is entirely the decision of the Federal Government and Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited NNPCL, therefore, it will be a misplaced aggression for anyone to attack Tompolo, Mathew Tonlagha and Chief Kestin Pondi for doing the job given to them by the Federal Government”

Okporoko said, any Urhobo or Zik Gbemre who are interested in pipeline surveillance contract should apply to Federal Government and NNPCL, and  stop making malicious and misleading comments against Tompolo and Tantita.

“ Tantita Security Services Limited employed youths across the 28 host communities in OML34. The youths are happy doing their job and earning their salary monthly”

Okporoko criticized Gbemre for disrespecting and undermining Urhobo Traditional Rulers, warning that such will not be tolerated.

“ Let me commend the  management of Tantita Security Services Limited for showing respect, honour and support to our Urhobo Traditional Rulers. It is important to caution Zik Gbemre to respect Urhobo Traditional Rulers”

He called on the Federal Government and NNPCL to  ignore Gbemre and his attempt to malign the reputation of Tompolo, Mathew Tonlagha.
