Chief Daje Congratulates Tinubu on her Chieftaincy conferment, explains significance of her visit


The Ogidinagba of Warri Kingdom, Chief John Okpeyor Daje, has extended warm congratulations to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, following her conferment with the chieftaincy title, Utukpa Oritse of Warri Kingdom, by the revered Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR.

Chief Daje, in a statement Friday February 27, said the honour, which held at Palace of the Olu of Warri, Thursday February 26, marked a significant moment in the relationship between the Warri Kingdom and the nation’s highest office.

He described the First Lady as “a true mother figure and a shining example of sincere love and patriotism,” particularly towards the Itsekiri nation, saying the chieftaincy conferment, reflects not just an honour, but deep mutual respect between the throne and the Nigerian state.

While echoing the promise of Senator Tinubu, Chief Daje hinted that the progress that is forthcoming, will not only benefit Itsekiris, but Urhobos, Ijaws, Igbos, Yorubas and everyone in Delta State.

The Ogidinagba of Warri Kingdom, admonished Deltans to unite and maintain peace, so as to usher in accelerated development and progress in the communities.

He expressed optimism that the conferment of the title; Utukpa Oritse of Warri Kingdom on Senator Oluremi Tinubu, would usher in renewed peace, unity and accelerated development across the kingdom.

According to him, such recognition strengthens traditional institutions, while fostering collaboration that benefits the broader community.

The Warri Chief opined that the gesture symbolizes unprecedented progress for Warri Kingdom, maintaining that the First Lady’s elevation within the revered palace of the Olu of Warri, was more than ceremonial, adding that it is a bridge of goodwill and a promise of inclusive growth for the Itsekiri people and beyond.
