The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, has pledged N100,000.00 (One hundred thousand naira) each, to players and members of the technical crew of Pessu Primary School, Warri.
Pessu Primary School Football Team, emerged champion of the 2025 Zenith Bank Delta Headmasters’ Cup, in a competition which featured over 7,000 public and private primary schools across Delta State.
The Warri South Local Government Boss, who played host to the victorious team at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, Delta State, Monday March 2, enjoined scouts from Arsenal, Manchester United and other big clubs around the world, to take a look at the raw talents from Pessu Primary School, Warri.
According to him, if the pupils can attain such feat without the enabling environment and basic training tools, “then you can imagine if these our younger ones, were in Europe or in other parts of the world.”

Whilst disclosing that Warri South Local Government Council, will open accounts at Wema Bank for each of the players and members of the technical crew, Comr. Agbateyiniro, revealed plans by his administration to provide writing materials for the pupils and address infrastructural deficit in Pessu Primary School.
The Chief Inspector of Education in Warri South Local Government, Dr. Samson Ugbejeh, who led the head teacher, technical crew and the victorious pupils of Pessu Primary School to Warri South Council, said the feat was made possible due to the support and prayer of Agbateyiniro.
“These are giants, they are going to be great stars in the future, and I want to tell the chairman that even though they have finished this assignment, they should not forget them, they should keep nurturing them and I know more stars will come out from them.
“I want to say that I have worked with different local government chairmen, but this present local government chairman (Comr. Agbateyiniro) is the best. If you have a positive vision, just let him know and he will not hesitate to help.
“I congratulate the coaches, they did marvellously well, they were there, come rain, come sun”, Dr. Ugbejeh, stated.
The Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre, Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Joy Ejumudo, Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Nunu, Supervisors of the Council as well as the Head Teacher of Pessu Primary School, Mrs. Grey-Areben Gladys, were present during the brief ceremony.
