Former Executive Director of Projects in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Engr. Tuoyo Omatsuli, was on Tuesday March 3, discharged and acquitted of all count charges brought against him at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
An elated Engr. Omatsuli, who spoke exclusively to Fresh Angle International on telephone shortly after the judgement, described the suit instituted by the EFCC as persecution, not prosecution.
According to him, the presiding Judge, made it clear that there was no need to bring up the case in the first place.
Omatsuli, alongside Francis Momoh, Don Parker Properties Limited and Building Associates Limited, were standing trial on an alleged case of conspiracy and money laundering to the tune of N3,645,000,000 before retired Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.
