In a resounding show of confidence, the Ndokwa East Council on Wednesday 4th March, threw its weight behind the trio of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission DESOPADEC; Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Executive Committee of HOSTCOM; Presidents General of Ndokwa East Clans; CDC Chairmen and Community Leaders unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the trio, citing their commitment to community development and impactful governance.
The meeting, convened at the instance of Dr. Charles Olisa, Member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the DESOPADEC Governing Board, highlighted the Commission's remarkable progress in Ndokwa communities.
Dr. Olisa briefed stakeholders on DESOPADEC's achievements, including infrastructural developments, social empowerment schemes and environmental services sustainability programs.
Commending Dr. Olisa's accessibility and commitment to community engagement, the Stakeholders praised DESOPADEC's impact in Ndokwa East.
The unanimous vote of confidence was moved by Chief Prince Richard Obi and seconded by Chief Sunday Okiah, with HOSTCOM Chairman, Pst. Samuel Enebeli and other leaders re-echoing the sentiment.
Urging community leaders to ensure the safety of oil facilities, promote peace and sustain harmonious relationship with oil companies, Dr. Olisa assured them that Governor Oborevwori's "More Agenda" and President Tinubu's "Renewed Hope Initiative" are on course and that the DESOPADEC Board will continue to implement meaningful projects in Ndokwa Nation, focusing on sustainable development and community empowerment.
