Prevail on management of Seplat to recognize us as host- Edjeba, Esobiebi families appeal to Oborevwori, Okpe Monarch

Members of Edjeba and Esobiebi families of Iriama Community in Okpe Local Government Area, have appealed to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd)  to prevail on the management of Seplat Energy PLC to recognize them as the host families to the Iriama Section of the 24 Amukpe Rapele Trunkline.

Fresh Angle International, understands that members of both families made the appeal while addressing newsmen in Warri.

Speaking on behalf of Edjeba and Esobiebi families of Iriama Community in Okpe Local Government Area, Mr. Paul Esobiebi and Mr. Sunny Biokoro, disclosed that both families gave the said land to Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, some years ago and the management of SPDC dealt with them as their host families all these years.

They alleged that, when SPDC handed over the property to Seplat Energy PLC in 2010, it signed an agreement with both families, but after the takeover, the management of Seplat Energy PLC, has refused to recognize both families as their host families, rather it started dealing with the community Executive.

Other members of the aggrieved families; Mr. Good luck Yankee, Mr. Francis Esobiebi and Mr. Glory Esobiebi, in a chat with newsmen, also urged the Management of Seplat to stop dealing with the Community's Executive, saying they were illegally constituted to deliberately shut out members of both families.

They called on the management of the multinational company to commence the payment of all compensations and privileges due to both families.

Members of Edjeba and Esobiebi families, pledged their unalloyed support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.
