Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Emiko Oghomienor, says Sole Representative of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, to NNPCL JV Partners, Prince Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, lacks the moral compass to speak or take political decisions for Itsekiri Nation.
Comr. Oghomienor, who is an Aide to the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, urged Prince Edema “to come down from his illusive high horse, so as not to re-escalate the tension which well meaning Iwere sons and daughters are trying to quell.”
Whilst stating that his grouse with Prince Edema, was as a result of Edema’s statement that he (Prince Edema) and his team “are strongly and actively considering worthy individuals to represent Warri Federal constituency in the House of Representatives”, as they “are tired of the current situation, which has not yielded to anything tangible”, Comr. Emiko, in a statement made available to Fresh Angle International, Wednesday April 1, said he expected the Warri Monarch’s Aide to dwell more on the Senatorial seat.
Emiko’s statement, reads: “
I read as a comic relief the publication of the sole representative to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, titled "Official Response to the Call to contest as a Senator, representing Delta Senatorial District"
I ordinarily have no problem with the people, who called on you to contest for Senate as it is your constitutional right to vote and be voted for, which also extends to having preferred candidates to support or otherwise. My grouse however, is in your beclouded and misplaced belief that by virtue of your relationship with our revered Monarch, Atuwatse III, you have been exalted to a position of "King maker" in the political affairs of Warri.
Firstly, I had hoped that you would be wise enough to appreciate the fact that your position as a representative of Ogiame to NNPC and other IOCs would erroneously paint your personal opinions as that of Baba or at best has his backing/support (this is because you act as his agent), further reading would show that this is your true intention albeit illusive.
For the benefit of the gullible minds that may be swayed negatively by your ill thought-out charade, may I state it here that you Mr. Collins, lack the moral compass to speak or take political decisions for Itsekiri and I will urge you to come down from this illusive high horse, so as not to re-escalate the tension which well meaning Iwere sons and daughters are trying to quell.
My main grouse with you as you may have deciphered, is your laughable assertion in Paragraph 7 of your publication thus- "at the same time, we are strongly and actively considering worthy individuals to represent Warri Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, as we are tired of the current situation which has not yielded to anything tangible. We believe in building a united front that reflects the true interest of our people". I have painstakingly tried to reconcile the laughable call for you to contest for Senate by your perhaps, non existent supporters and you teaming up to fill the House of Representatives. I expected you to dwell more on the Senatorial seat since that is where your non-existent supporters are clamouring for your service, but alas, you are more concerned with the House of Representatives position, for "want of something tangible". Perhaps you are satisfied with the current representation of your people at the Senate, hence you not only declined to contest, but chose not to "team up" to fill that position.
I am tempted to ask, what are your antecedents to our people that is giving you this lofty daytime dream that you are now the saviour and mouth piece of the Itsekiri people? What has been your contributions to the Itsekiri nation other than being an unpopular president of NAIG? How many Itsekiri's did you assist to secure employment during your tenure at NAIG? How many Itsekiri graduate have you been able to secure employment for in NNPC as the sole representative of the Olu of Warri? What was you and your team's contribution to the ward re-delineation struggle? How well have you fared in paying stipends to beneficiaries who are rampant with complaint on social media against your failure to so do as at when due? Mr. Collins Edema you are simply a young man favoured by the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III (who you never supported before his ascension to the throne as your preferred candidate. It is an open secret that you supported Prince Jayie Emiko as your preferred candidate for the throne).
As a serving agent to His Royal Majesty, I will advise that you be mindful of how you delve into the political arena so as not to drag the palace into political disrepute.
May I at this junction, plead with our revered King and father, Ogiame, Atuwatse III to call you and others, who are on direct service to the throne either as Chief, agent or administrative staff to be mindful of how they exercise their political franchise as this should be devoid of the palace.
The palace as we know it, is apolitical. The King is the father of all sons and daughters of Warri Kingdom and blesses all aspirants irrespective of their political divide.
Mr. Collins my brother and friend, please remove the log in your eyes and see clearly. You do not, cannot speak for Itsekiri.
