Amid the growing controversy of whether or not the pipeline surveillance contract awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, should be decentralized or not, the Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri in Elem Kalabari, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, Asari Dokubo, says no drop of oil passes through any pipeline in Nigeria.
Asari, in a podcast Monday April 6, declared that government, through the NNPCL pay pipeline protectors N2.1 and 2.7 trillion, for “not guiding any pipeline”.
The ex-militant leader cum traditional ruler, who stated that he is not in competition with anyone and noted that his outburst would annoy some people, asserted: “No drop of oil is passing through any pipeline in Nigeria.
“Quote me, they lied to you that Nigeria oil production has increased. Nigeria oil production has decreased.
“I did this pipeline security as Director for Operation, Adept and MD of Adept Security Limited, my brother Ateke was the chairman of Adept, there was astronomical increase in production at that period, between 2012- 2014.

“How much is Nigeria making from oil that 4.8trillion is being paid to individuals and how much are they paying the people working for them. We have not been paid in some of our locations especially in Imo state for 45months, but we are paying salary every month.
“I see some people saying that only Tantita can do the job and I see that as an insult on us. We did the job before. Pipeline Infrastructure is not Tantita. Pipeline Infrastructure is doing the job too with them, so what’s the argument.”
