A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Hon. Michael Diden has accepted to contest for the Delta South Senatorial Seat in 2027.

Hon Diden, widely known as "Ejele", in response to pleas by the APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement, assured he would contest for the Delta South Senatorial Seat and win in the coming elections.

He thanked the group for the endorsement, saying that it was an indication of the confidence they had in him adding "There is an adage in almost all tribes that the best ways to show appreciation is to say thank you. Therefore, I have no other option than to say thank you for the endorsement'.

APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement, one of the most formidable political pressure groups in Delta State, had on sunday officially unveiled and endorsed Hon. Michael Diden (Ejele) as their candidate for the Delta South Senatorial District seat in the Senate, at a rally held at Rice Farm along Esisi Road, Warri, in Warri South Local Government Area.

The Movement, also endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi as well as the election of Hon. Justice Akuyoma as member to represent Warri North in Delta State House of Assemby.

In accepting the pleas of the group, the frontline Delta South Senatorial aspirant, Michael Diden, said he had already accepted the group's pressure on him to contest for the Senatorial District in 2027.

He recalled that the same group was part of several others that were behind his previous contest for the same Seat which he won but was manipulated for certain reasons

"I have already accepted their pleas and I am very happy with it. This are group of people who followed me in my last election. They never betrayed me and because of the believe I have in them, that is why I decided to follow what they demanded", he said.

Ejele who contested for the Delta South Senatorial District election in the 2023 general election, said that he won seven out of the eight Local government areas of the district and that members of the group made it possible then.

He said that those responsible for his lost in the last election were not alive again, expressing hope that the 2027 election would be better than the previous one.

"By the grace of God, if I get there, I will improve and I will be there for you," he pledged.

Director General of APC Crusaders and Messengers Movement, Mr. Suru Diden said the decision to pressure Hon. Michael Diden underscored the growing demand across Delta State and Delta South particularly for his participation in the 2027 Senatorial race.

He disclosed that the group had already commenced widespread mobilisation in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi and an aspirant to Warri North Seat in Delta State House of Assemby, Justice Akuyoma.

Suru Diden said he was elated that Evangelist Diden accepted their pleas assuring that his group would now go all out to engage party supporters on the need for their support for their objectives, which is to send Ejele to the Senate.

"Ejele is a grassroot administrator who understands the feelings of the people. He has done very well in all the positions he held. Ejele cares so much for the well-being of the masses irrespective of the tribe, he is a detribalised politician", he said.

Deputy Director General of the group, Engr Ogie Samson eulogised Evangelist Diden describing the Assistant Director General of the APC Crusaders and Messengers said that Mr Diden fondly called Ejele was endorsed following his robust track records.

He described the senator-hopeful as a detribalised politician, good listener and a problem solver.

According to him, Ejele had done exceedingly well in all the offices he had held in the past adding that is a unique blend of grassroot administrator, a seasoned legislator and spiritual father.

While reflecting on the leadership charisma of the former member of the Delta House of Assembly, Ogie said that Mr Ejele would represent a good voice for the people of the Delta South Senatorial District at the 11th National Assembly.

"We are also returning Chief Ereyitomi in the 2027 House of Representatives election because of his good representation at the National Assembly," he said.

Ogie urged their supporters to remain steadfast and deliver their candidates in the forthcoming genera elections.

He maintained that the call for his candidacy was borne out of his intellectual capacity to contribute meaningful to lawmaking at the national level as well as his compassion for the welfare of the people irrespective of their ethnicity.

"That's why you see members of the Arewa community here. The person's with special needs and the less privileged around here to urged Evang Michael Diden, Ejele to contest and represent them in the Senate come 2027", he added.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of the movements flag to all the aspirants and March past by delegates from all the local government areas that makes up the Warri Senatorial District.
