Ex-leader of Itsekiri students, David Utseoritsemofe Tonwe, has taken a swipe at Speaker of Delta State of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, saying Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, would blame him for saying Ijaws have six local government areas in Delta State.
Tonwe, who spoke from his current location abroad, told Fresh Angle International, that Rt. Hon. Guwor’s statement, confirmed the allegations of his purported involvement “in the most fraudulent INEC activities in the three local governments, where money almost made the Ijaw of Gbaran (Gbaramatu) landlords in a rented apartment.”
He stated: “Mr. Speaker Emomotimi Dennis, I watched the viral video in which you claimed that the Ijaw own six local governments in Delta State. Some people may ask why I addressed you as “Mr. Speaker” instead of “Honourable Speaker.”
“First, who is an honourable person? An honourable person is someone who adheres strictly to high moral and ethical principles, acting with integrity, honesty, and fairness. Based on this definition, I find it more appropriate to address you as “Mr. Speaker,” as there is nothing honourable about you.
“Mr. Speaker, thank you for confirming the allegations of your involvement in the most fraudulent INEC activities in the three local governments, where money almost made the Ijaw of Gbaran (Gbaramatu) landlords in a rented apartment.
“I know your people and even the governor will blame you for saying what you said few days back. I'm not surprised you said, I understand the plans like Sons of Issachar as recorded in 1 chronicles 12:32.
“However, I will not blame you alone. Where are the Itsekiris of Warri South-West, who sold out their own brothers, allowing you to become a House of Assembly member and eventually Speaker?
“The Itsekiri were in Burutu as far back as 1910 and owned most parts of the area. Itsekiri was the economic hub of that local government, with many places named after them. But what happened after the crisis? You guys droved them out and changed all the Itsekiri place names to Ijaw names. So, your claim of Ijaw 6 local government is the continuation of the master plan.
“Itsekiri people, listen: Nigeria is not a place where you allow your tenants or neighbors—especially the Ijaw of Gbaran—to sit comfortably in your house. Once that happens, the result is what the Itsekiri are experiencing today in the three Warri local governments. I know the Itsekiri leaders in Warri South-West may choose to remain silent. But if they do, we the youths will not.”
To all Itsekiri leaders in Warri South-West, I say this: I await your response to what Mr. Speaker has said. If you allow him to return to the House of Assembly in 2027, it will confirm your loyalty to him and show that you have sold yourselves to him and his Gbaran family. But the Itsekiri ancestral home and land will no longer be controlled by land grabbers.
