DTHA 2027: Warri South Council Majority Leader, Awani drops aspiration, cites prevailing political realities

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and Majority Leader of Warri South Local Government Council Legislative Arm, Hon. Tuoyo Ebigbeyi Awani, has dropped his aspiration to contest for the Warri South Constituency II seat in Delta State House of Assembly in the 2027 polls.

The local government lawmaker, cited deference to larger interest of the APC and prevailing political realities.

Hon. Awani, who made his decision known in an electronic statement sent to Fresh Angle International Wednesday April 29, said he remains committed to the APC. 

The statement, reads: "After wide consultations with my family, political leaders, and critical stakeholders across, and in deference to the larger interest of our great party and the prevailing political realities, I have decided to step down from the race for the Delta State House of Assembly,Warri South Constituency II.
"As a loyal party man, I have observed the body language of His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, and other leaders of our party. In politics, leadership direction is key to party cohesion and electoral victory. I choose to align with that direction in the overall interest of our state.

"I remain committed to the APC ,having no intention to decamp to another party  irrespective of the present reality, and to the success of His Excellency’s administration. I will continue to contribute my quota to the development of my Constituency in whatever capacity the party deems fit.

"I thank my supporters, campaign team, and the good people of my Constituency for their faith in me. This is not the end, but a strategic pause.

"God bless Delta State.
God bless the APC , and God bless all my supporters ."
