Former two - time President of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Papa Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor, has narrated how God saved his life about five times, saying he's a man that God has shown mercy and grace.

The prominent Christian cleric, spoke Sunday May 10, at Word of Life Bible Church, Warri, during a special thanksgiving service held in honour of him and Dr. Felix Omobude, following their miraculous escape from a possible plane crash.

Fresh Angle International, can report that the thanksgiving service, was at the instance of Archbishop Goddowell Oyibo Avwomakpa and other Christian leaders in Delta State, under the auspices of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.

Papa Oritsejafor, recalled a situation with an heliciopter at Bayelsa state, during the administration of ex - President Goodluck Jonathan, when he travelled to the state for a funeral service and had to turn down a particular helicopter, originally assigned to take him back to Warri.

According to him, the helicopter he refused boarding back to Warri, exploded few minutes from take off and killed the dignitaries onboard.

The ex - President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, mentioned a swimming pool experience, survival from cancer, after five - hour surgery and a recent airplane incident, involving himself, his Aides , Dr. Felix Omobude and few others, including the crew members.

They departed Lagos on their way to the service of songs of late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, when the aircraft developed depressurisation, leaving Papa Ayodele Oritsejafor, Dr. Omobude and other passengers onboard, gasping for breath.

" The pilot, said he didn't know why there was no explosion, because the pressure was too much. We gasped for breath, I still have a long way to go in my life here on earth.

" I had cancer, I survived it, after five hours of surgery. The Doctor, looked at me and said, I don't understand this. I told him, you don't have to understand.

" I don't know how to explain it, make Nigeria fear God, make Nigeria follow God. Let's consider each other and make Nigeria a better place" Oritsejafor testifies before the thousands of Christian faithful, including Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, his Deputy, Monday Onyeme and Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor.

Initiator of the special thanksgiving service, Archbishop Goddowell Oyibo Avwomakpa, in his opening remarks, stated" how did the Devil attempt to kill two eyes of the Lord, after Bishop Benson Idahosa left.

" The government of Delta State, is backing the church to celebrate this special thanksgiving.

" Ayo and Omobude, were on a chatted plane, to bury Uma Ukpai, when the plane developed mechanical issue. Papa Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor and Dr. Felix Omobude, were delivered from plane crash."

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, whilst speaking during the ceremony, said the escape called for celebration.

Governor Oborevwori, stated: " Papa, nothing do you, God will bless you. The time, has not come for you to leave us.

" Thanksgiving, is a must -do, it opens more doors. In the 38 cases, I passed through during my travails, I always did thanksgiving.

" The experience of Papa Ayo and Omobude, would have been a very great loss to us in Bendel ( Delta and Edo states).

" I celebrate you today, Papa Ayo. Let us continue to emulate our leaders. Any politician, who undermine fathers of faith, is doomed.

" I told the fathers of faith, including Papa Ayo and Archbishop Avwomakpa, before potting. The fathers of faith, are sincere with my government."

In an exhortation, Port - Harcourt based gospel minister, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, explained that what Archbishop Goddowell Avwomakpa did by initiating the special thanksgiving service, was to tell God " don't take away our umbrella."

He added: " It was a day the service of songs, was to hold for late Dr. Uma Ukpai, that they ( Papa Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor, Dr. Felix Omobude and others onboard) escaped death.

" We are thanking God and telling Him, still keep these men for us.

" Ask any pilot, no one survives depressurisation of aircraft, but Papa Ayo, Dr. Omobude and others on the flight, survived."

This Pioneer Niger Delta Digital Newspaper, can report that Dr. Felix Omobude, who wasn't in the thanksgiving service, as a result of commitment outside the country, was represented by his son, Ebenezer Omobude
