The Legislative Arm of Warri South Local Government Council, will on Thursday May 14, hold public hearing on four critical bills, aimed at strengthening good governance at the grassroots.
Bills, which are in exercise of the Legislative Arm's powers , under section 7(1) and the Fourth Schedule of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ( as amended) would be extensively deliberated upon, with contributions expected from stakeholders in the council area.
According to a statement signed by the Clerk of Warri South Legislative Arm, Godfrey Afor Maku, the four bills , are : " Executive Bill for a bye -law ensuring the compulsory use of life jackets on Warri South waterways, Executive Bill for the establishment of Warri South Rainbow Economic Hub, Executive Bill for the regulation of construction and buildings within Warri South Local Government Area as well as a Bill to establish and operate freedom squares within Warri South Local Government Area.
The statement, noted that the public hearing, which will be chaired by Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Joy Ejumudo, commences by 10:00 am, at the Warri South Legislative Chamber in the Council Main Secretariat, Warri.
"We count on your ( referring to stakeholders expected ) cooperation and participation in this democratic process to strengthen good governance at the grassroots" the statement, emphasised.
