Group demands axe of Arenyeka over alleged compromise of Delta South APC Primary

The Orere Political Movement for Good Governance, has urged the National Working Committee, NWC of All Progressives Congress, APC to sack Delta State Chairman of APC, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, over his alleged compromise in the Delta South APC Primary held Monday May 18.

The group, in a petition dated Wednesday May 20 and made available to Fresh Angle International same day, claimed that the integrity of the Delta South Senatorial District primary election, was compromised at the collation level “and the man at the center of that compromise is Mr. Solomon Arenyeka.”

Chairman of Orere Political Movement for Good Governance, Laju Dennis Mukoro, who authored the petition, alleged: “Instead of acting as a neutral umpire, multiple reports from delegates, ward agents and observers indicate that, Chief Arenyeka “acted in a manner inconsistent with the principles of fairness, transparency and impartiality expected of any APC official.

“Credible feedbacks from the field indicate that Mr. Arenyeka had prior engagements with specific aspirants ahead of the primaries.

“The most damaging allegation is that results emanating from Delta South Senatorial District were tampered with during collation. Figures announced at the ward level do not align with the figures later presented at the senatorial collation.”

The petition, which copied President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC Delta State Working Committee, INEC Delta State Office and APC Delta South Senatorial District Stakeholders, explained: “This is about protecting the APC from collapse in Delta State. If we allow compromised officials to oversee our processes and get away with it, then we are telling the grassroots that their votes do not matter. That is how parties lose elections before the main election even starts.”

The group, demanded the institution of an independent investigative panel by the APC NWC to review all result sheets, video evidence, and agent reports from Delta South Senatorial District, say the panel must invite all aspirants’ agents and conduct hearings in public.
