Ghereje takes over as President, Omadino Community Employment and Development Association

Former Public Relations Officer of Omadino Community Youth body, Comrade Joshua Eworitsemogha Ghereje, has taken over as President of Omadino Community Employment and Development Association.

 

Our Principal Correspondent, reports that Comrade Ghereje, who was inaugurated Sunday June 7 at Nenuwa Hall in Omadino, by the Olare-Aja (Oldest Man) of Omadino Community, Pa. Godfrey Oruru Edemadiden, will lead a nine-member executive of the Omadino Community Employment and Development Association for the next four years.

 

While inaugurating the association on behalf of the Olare-Aja, Chairman of Omadino Community Management Committee, Mr. Tuoyo Mogbeyiteren, expressed gratitude to The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, for the “incomparable manner in which he has been resolving Omadino affairs and the entire Itsekiri Nation.”

He charged the Ghereje led association to discharge their duties with discipline, love and unity, assuring them of the Management Committee's support as well as that of the elders and other indigenes of Omadino Community.

 

While delivering his opening remarks on behalf of the new leadership of Omadino Community Employment and Development Association, Comrade Joshua Ghereje, appreciated those who believed in the vision, supported the journey and entrusted him with the position to lead, describing the inauguration as a celebration of unity, hope, and the power of young people working together for a better future.

 

Comrade Ghereje, pledged to listen, learn, and lead with integrity, fairness as well as transparency, adding that his mission was to create an environment where every young person feels heard, valued, empowered and inspired to contribute positively to the growth of the community.

"We live in a time where young people face many challenges unemployment, lack of opportunities, social pressures, and uncertainty about the future. But despite these obstacles, I strongly believe that our generation carries enormous potential. We are creative, resilient, talented, and capable of driving meaningful change", he stated.

 

He promised that his leadership will focus on promoting unity over division, action over excuses, progress over stagnation, encourage education, entrepreneurship, skill development, innovation, community engagement, create opportunities for growth and ensure that no voice is ignored.

 

Ghereje promised to work closely with the chairman and other members of the executive of Omadino Community Management Committee, the Olare-Aja and members of the Elders’ Council.

 

He commended the immediate past President of Omadino Community Employment and Development Association, Comrade Francis Niro Yomere, “for laying a solid foundation”, which he vowed to consolidate upon.

Other members of the newly sworn in Omadino Community Employment Development Association are: Comrade Eromoje Atakere; Vice President, Comrade Confidence Aguarabureye; Organizing Secretary, Comrade Emmanuel Eyeku; Assistant Secretary, Comrade Modus Atigbi; Secretary, Comrade James Odume; PRO, Comrade Ada Ugbameta; Treasurer, Comrade Edemeko Ebamije; Provost and Comrade Thomas Ekpoto; Financial Secretary.

 

Highpoints of the ceremony, included presentation of outstanding award to Comrade Niro Yomere, financial grant to the new leadership as well as offering of prayers to the new leadership of Omadino Community Employment Development Association, by Chief Priest Roland Yomere.

 

Personalities present during the inauguration, include Barr. Austin Oboreogbeyi, Alfred Toritseju Udueyin and some members of Ugbarajo Itsekiri Youth, UIY.
