Olisa Inspects Ongoing Assembly Hall Project At Oduga Secondary School, Ushie

The Member representing the Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Governing Board of DESOPADEC, Dr. Charles Olisa today Thursday 11th June, 2026 inspected the ongoing construction of the Assembly Hall at Oduga Secondary School, Ushie.

Addressing the contractor and site supervisors during the visit, Dr. Olisa charged the firm to ensure the project is delivered in strict compliance with DESOPADEC’s contract terms, technical specifications and quality benchmarks and set August, 2026 as the completion target time.

“This project is part of DESOPADEC’s mandate to deliver tangible, high-impact infrastructure that would improve learning conditions and community life across the oil-producing areas.

“We expect contractors to maintain professional standards, meet agreed timelines and ensure transparency throughout execution,” Dr. Olisa said.

Reiterating the Commission’s zero-tolerance stance on substandard work, Dr. Olisa stressed that value for money remains non-negotiable in all DESOPADEC interventions.

The inspection forms part of the Governing Board’s broader push under the leadership of Board Chairman Olorogun Barr. John Nani and Managing Director/CEO Chief Festus Ochonogor to accelerate the rollout of meaningful and sustainable projects across the Commission’s mandate areas.

Dr. Olisa added that the Board’s approach directly reflects the Delta State Government’s M.O.R.E. Agenda championed by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, Executive Governor of Delta State which prioritizes Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security.

Upon completion, the Assembly Hall is expected to ease congestion, enhance school activities and provide a befitting venue for academic and community events at Oduga Secondary School.
