The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD, has emerged as the new Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, assuming the traditional title of Daufa VI.
His emergence followed the constitutional succession process of the Ayakoro Community and comes six months after the passing of the late Paramount Ruler.
Prior to his installation, Chief Ogbuku served as the Deputy Paramount Ruler of the community.
The transition, supervised by the Bayelsa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, also saw Chief Micah Itesi emerge as the Deputy Paramount Ruler.
Speaking after his installation, Ogbuku described the honour as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by the people of Ayakoro. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to lead with humility, integrity, and a strong commitment to the welfare of the community.
He further pledged to promote peace, unity, and sustainable development, expressing confidence that his reign would usher in greater progress and prosperity for Ayakoro. He also assured the people of his readiness to work with all stakeholders to build a stronger, more peaceful, and more prosperous community for future generations.
