Peoples Democratic Party Candidate for Warri South-West Constituency seat in the forthcoming 2027 polls, Hon. Emiko Odin-Etuwewe, has backed calls for legal review of Supreme Court Judgment, as it relates to delineation of units and wards in Warri Federal Constituency.
The former Leader of Warri South-West Legislative Arm cum House of Assembly hopeful, noted that while ambition lasts a lifetime, justice, lays the foundation for peace and unity across generations.
Hon. Odin-Etuwewe, who made the assertion in an electronic statement sent to Fresh Angle International, Friday June 26, emphasized that his legislative aspiration was not driven by personal ambition, but a stand against illegality and its sponsors.
His statement, reads: “I thank my party, the PDP, and the good people of Warri South-West. However, this race is not driven by personal ambition, but by a stand against illegality and its sponsors. Why should I then be expected to queue behind illegality?
“I still expect the law to take its full course as a form of redress. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is an independent body. While suggestions and opinions are welcome, they should inform—not override—its constitutional mandate to carry out their duties.
“Our community’s assets are being renamed and encroached upon, yet we are told to embrace Alternative Dispute Resolution? ‘Not having the right thing done doesn’t imply that we should be slaves to illegality.
“Wrong is wrong, no matter who says it or does it.’ — Malcolm X
“Ambition lasts only a lifetime. Justice, however, lays the foundation for peace and unity across generations.”
