Delimitation: Uroye’s Aide writes Tinubu, says every ethnic nationality deserves fair presentation

As the controversy surrounding the delimitation of Warri Federal Constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC continues, the Legislative Assistant to the Member Representing Warri South Constituency I in Delta State House of Assembly (Dr. Augustine Uroye) Comr. Ajemijeroma Gabriel Mene-Ejegi, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to give every ethnic nationality fair opportunity to present its position, supported by verifiable facts, historical records, and constitutional principles.

Comr. Ajemijeroma Gabriel Mene-Ejegi, who made the appeal in an open letter addressed to President Tinubu, stated that justice is best served when every concerned party is heard, without fear, favour, or undue influence.

According to him, the President should give equal audience to the duly recognized representatives of each of the three ethnic nationalities that make up Warri Federal Constituency in the interest of justice and lasting peace.

His letter, reads: “Your Excellency, I write this letter with profound respect, patriotism, and unwavering confidence in your commitment to justice, equity, and national unity.

“First, let me sincerely commend your intervention in the issues concerning Warri Federal Constituency. Your willingness to engage stakeholders on matters affecting Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South West reflects your genuine desire to promote lasting peace, fairness, and stability.

“However, with the utmost humility, I respectfully submit that the 25 minutes allotted for the engagement may not have been sufficient to fully appreciate the historical realities, facts, and legitimate concerns of the three major ethnic nationalities—Itsekiri, Ijaw, and Urhobo.

“Your Excellency, this is a matter that deserves careful listening, thorough consultation, and balanced consideration. Every individual, regardless of status or office, naturally presents issues from the perspective of those they represent.

“Therefore, I respectfully appeal that no decision of such national importance should be based solely on the views or submissions of any single individual or office holder, whether a governor, political leader, traditional ruler, or any other influential personality.

“Rather, in the interest of justice and lasting peace, I humbly urge Your Excellency to give equal audience to the duly recognized representatives of each of the three ethnic nationalities that make up Warri Federal Constituency.

“Every ethnic nationality deserves a fair opportunity to present its position, supported by verifiable facts, historical records, and constitutional principles. Justice is best served when every concerned party is heard without fear, favour, or undue influence.

“As the father of our nation, your greatest strength lies not in listening to the most influential voices, but in ensuring that every constituent group is given an equal opportunity to be heard. Such an inclusive approach will not only strengthen confidence in the process but will also ensure that any decision reached is widely accepted as fair, just, and enduring.

“Warri Federal Constituency remains one of Nigeria's most strategic and diverse regions. Whatever promotes harmony, mutual respect, and justice among its people should be encouraged, while every effort should be made to avoid actions or decisions that may unintentionally create distrust or deepen divisions.

“Your Excellency, history remembers leaders who listened before they judged, who united rather than divided, and who placed justice above influence. I am confident that under your leadership, this matter can be revisited in a manner that reflects equity, strengthens national unity, inspires public confidence, and leaves a lasting legacy of peace for present and future generations.

“May Almighty God continue to grant you wisdom, good health, courage, and divine guidance as you continue to lead the Federal Republic of Nigeria toward greater unity, peace, and prosperity.”
