Delta 2027: Eshor Promises Industrial Revolution Through Maritime Development

Governorship candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC in Delta State, Engr. Isaac Eshor, has declared his readiness to lift the state from what he described as the shackles of underdevelopment through strategic investments in infrastructure, industrialization, youth empowerment, and maritime development.

Eshor, a proud son of Ebu Kingdom in Oshimili North Local Government Area, said his decision to contest for the governorship position is driven by a genuine desire to unlock the vast economic potential of Delta State and improve the living standards of its people.

Over the years, the engineer and development advocate has built a reputation as a visionary leader committed to community service, humanitarian interventions, and youth empowerment initiatives, earning recognition across Delta State and beyond.

Speaking on his vision for the state, Eshor noted that despite Delta's abundant natural and human resources, many communities continue to face challenges including poor infrastructure, unemployment, inadequate healthcare services, environmental degradation, and limited economic opportunities.

According to him, "My aspiration to lead Delta State is driven by a sincere desire to liberate our people from the shackles of underdevelopment and unlock the enormous potential that exists in every community across the state."

He pledged that his administration would prioritize the provision of quality infrastructure, improved healthcare delivery, enhanced educational opportunities, youth empowerment programmes, agricultural development, industrialization, and technological innovation.

Eshor emphasized that creating jobs and attracting investments would be central to his economic agenda, stressing that development must reach every part of the state irrespective of political, ethnic, or geographical differences.

"I believe every Deltan deserves access to good roads, clean water, reliable electricity, quality healthcare, and opportunities to achieve their full potential. My government will be transparent, accountable, and people-centered," he said.

In what many observers describe as one of the most ambitious economic proposals in the state's recent political history, Eshor also unveiled plans to establish a world-class dockyard in Delta State to harness the state's vast maritime resources and position it as a leading marine and industrial hub in Nigeria.

Drawing comparisons with the success of Nigerdock in Lagos, Eshor argued that Delta possesses the natural advantages required to become a major player in the maritime sector.

Delta State has the coastline, waterways, and strategic location. What has been lacking is the leadership and political will to transform these advantages into economic prosperity for our people, he stated.

He explained that the proposed dockyard would create thousands of direct and indirect jobs in shipbuilding, vessel repairs, fabrication, logistics, transportation, and other marine-related industries.

According to the AAC governorship hopeful, the project would also attract significant local and foreign investments while providing technical and vocational training opportunities for young people across the state.

Economic transformation does not happen through speeches alone. It requires deliberate investments in critical infrastructure that can stimulate growth, create jobs, and attract investors. A modern dockyard will help revive Delta's marine economy and position the state as a destination for maritime business in West Africa,he added.

Eshor called on Deltans to embrace a new vision of development anchored on innovation, transparency, industrial growth, and inclusive governance.

He expressed confidence that with the support of the people, Delta State could become more prosperous, secure, and globally competitive.

Delta State can be greater than it is today. Together, we can build a future where our youths have opportunities, our communities have development, and our economy works for everyone, Eshor declared.

The governorship candidate concluded by reaffirming his commitment to delivering purposeful leadership capable of transforming Delta State into a model of sustainable development and economic prosperity.
