Former President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Alero Naomi Tenumah, has expressed anger over alleged secret employment of 18 graduates by Chevron Nigeria Limited, saying no Itsekiri was considered during the purported recruitment exercise.
Tenumah, claimed that the new employees dominated by Igbos, with few from Yoruba and Esan ethnic Nationalities, resumed July 1, 2026 at Chevron Nigeria Limited office at Lekki, Lagos.
The ex - Itsekiri graduates' leader and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, who made the allegation in a telephone chat with Fresh Angle International Sunday August 2, described the development as an affront to Itsekiri Nation, which is the major ethnic host to the oil and gas major.
According to her, the alleged secret employment, was even more vexatious, " considering the long - time agitations for the management of Chevron Nigeria Limited, to convert the experienced VTP graduates of Itsekiri extraction to staff."
She called on the management of Chevron Nigeria Limited, to immediately engage qualified Itsekiris in the recruitment or face coordinated confrontation from Itsekiri sons and daughters in the days and weeks ahead.
