Royal Boat Regatta, Bike and Scooter contest as well as Itsekiri Language Competition, at Ode-Itsekiri and Warri, will highlight the 5th coronation anniversary of The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, Fresh Angle International can report.
There will also be massive cultural displays, family heirlooms exhibitions and homage paying to the Warri Monarch by various Itsekiri communities.
Our Principal Correspondent, reports that this much was disclosed Monday August 10 by Chief Mene Brown, who addressed newsmen at Olu Palace, Warri, on behalf of the coronation anniversary oversight committee.
Below is extract of the press statement;
Gentlemen, this year’s milestone Anniversary is under the Theme: ‘Global Home Coming- celebrating our Cultural Renaissance, Unity and Transformational Progress’.
The Anniversary, will officially commence from 14th August 2026 to 23rd August, 2026.
It will interest you to note that it is a Ten day Royal Ceremony, Community Engagement, Traditional dances and Sporting events.
There will be massive cultural displays, family heirlooms exhibitions and homage paying to His Majesty by various Communities, including Royal Boat Regatta, Bike and Scooter Competition and Itsekiri Language Competition at both Ode-Itsekiri and Warri.
It is interesting to note that the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, has established a strategic partnership with Warri Kingdom to leverage this Anniversary for Global Tourism Development, Investment and Youth Empowerment.
It is on the above developments that we today celebrate half a decade of a vision built on peace, innovation and global renaissance.
His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, Olu of Warri recognize that the future of Warri Kingdom lies in it's Youths.
Thus the launching of Iwere Innovation Hub will dismantle old stereotypes thereby driving digital literacy, Software Engineering and Entrepreneurship, directly into the hearts of Warri Kingdom.
