Per Second News Strengthens Editorial Team, Appoints Joycelyn Adah, Dr. Emily Howswirthz and Oluwasegun Adebayo to Key Roles

As part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen its editorial operations, expand multimedia production and deepen coverage across key sectors, Per Second News has announced the appointments of Joycelyn Ellakeche Adah as Digital Content Editor and Producer, Dr. Emily Howswirthz as Health and Wellness Editor, and Oluwasegun Adebayo as Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor.

Adah is an accomplished broadcast journalist and producer with more than two decades of experience across television, radio and digital media. She has worked with leading media organisations, including African Independent Television, Aso Television and Radio, Advocate Broadcasting Network and BenTV Europe.

She also produced and presented NNPCL Energy Today, a specialised energy programme aired on Channels Television.

A specialist in energy and environmental journalism, Adah also serves as Producer of The Exchange, Per Second News’ flagship podcast, where she leads content development, editorial planning and production.

Her extensive experience and passion for impactful storytelling, public affairs and amplifying Nigerian voices will play a central role in advancing the organisation’s digital and multimedia strategy.

Dr. Emily Howswirthz, the newly appointed Health and Wellness Editor, is a distinguished physician, humanitarian advocate and healthcare leader. She brings more than two decades of experience in the medical profession.

During her career, Dr. Howswirthz has served in some of Hamburg, Germany’s leading hospitals, where she has consistently demonstrated excellence in patient care, clinical leadership and healthcare system development.

Beyond her medical practice, she has distinguished herself through her commitment to humanitarian service and community development, particularly in East Africa. She has contributed to several health outreach initiatives, wellness advocacy programmes and charitable interventions aimed at improving access to healthcare and supporting vulnerable communities.

In her new role, Dr. Howswirthz will lead Per Second News’ health and wellness coverage, providing expert-driven, accessible and credible content on public health, preventive care, medical developments and healthy living.

Adebayo’s appointment as Entertainment and Lifestyle Editor took effect on August 8. Based in Lagos, he will lead the publication’s entertainment, lifestyle, celebrity and premium social coverage.

He will be responsible for developing compelling, exclusive and industry-leading content aimed at expanding Per Second News’ presence across digital and traditional multimedia platforms.

Adebayo brings nearly 16 years of journalism and media experience to the organisation. Before joining Per Second News, he served as an Assistant Editor at Nigerian Tribune, where he built a reputation for strong editorial leadership, extensive industry connections and insightful reporting on Nigeria’s vibrant entertainment sector.

As Africa’s creative industry continues to gain global prominence, Adebayo’s experience and editorial vision will be instrumental in delivering high-quality stories and exclusive coverage to Per Second News’ growing audience.

These appointments reinforce Per Second News’ commitment to quality journalism, innovative content creation and a multimedia-driven approach to news, public education and audience engagement.
