Ughelli 2027: Ricardo Oguma Receives Massive Support Ahead APC Primary

Indications have emerged that leaders, youths and women of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State are rallying support for Dr. Ricardo Oghenerho Oguma (JP), Executive Assistant on Special Duties to the Delta State Governor, ahead of the party’s House of Assembly primary for Ughelli South Constituency 2.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled August 21 to 25, for the conduct of party primaries in Ughelli South Constituency 2 and three other previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies.

Speaking on the development, Ambassador  ( Chief) Godwin Okporoko, Executive Assistant on Security Matters to the Delta State Governor, described Dr. Oguma as a tested, loyal and committed member of the APC who deserves the opportunity to represent the constituency in 2027.

Okporoko, who is also Chairman of the Ughelli South United Forum, said Oguma had positively impacted the lives of residents and contributed to peace and development in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

He expressed confidence that APC leaders, stakeholders and members in Ughelli South Constituency 2 would support and vote for Oguma during the party’s primary election.

The APC chieftain also commended Chief John Oguma, Udu of Olomu Kingdom and a prominent leader in Ughelli South Local Government Area, for his contributions to the party and support for the Delta State Government.

According to him, the time has come to recognise Chief John Oguma’s contributions by supporting his son, Dr. Ricardo Oghenerho Oguma, to secure the APC ticket for Ughelli South Constituency 2.

Okporoko, also described Chief John Oguma as a father figure to many people in Ughelli South.

He said, “Considering the contributions, sacrifices and support of Chief John Oguma to the Delta State Government, as well as his efforts towards promoting sustainable peace and development in Ughelli South Local Government Area, it is only fair to support his son, Dr. Ricardo Oghenerho Oguma (JP), Executive Assistant on Special Duties to the Delta State Governor, in the APC House of Assembly primary for Ughelli South Constituency 2"

“Dr. Oguma is competent, capable and prepared to serve the people effectively if given the opportunity.”

Okporoko therefore appealed to stakeholders and residents of Ughelli South Constituency 2 to collectively endorse and support Ricardo Oguma for the APC ticket.

He expressed confidence that Oguma would provide quality representation and attract meaningful development and other dividends of democracy to the constituency if elected in 2027.
