Osarumwense explains why OGTAN HCD Conference was brought to Delta

President of the Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria, OGTAN, Mr. Chris Osarumwense, says OGTAN HCD Conference & Expo 2026, was brought to Delta State, because Warri is part of the story of Nigeria's oil and gas industry.

According to Mr. Osarumwense, Niger Delta has been at the heart of Nigeria's petroleum industry for decades, noting that the history of petroleum exploration, production, processing, services, technical manpower and community development in the Niger Delta, are intertwined with the development of Nigeria's energy economy.

Our Principal Correspondent, reports that Mr. Osarumwense, who gave the explanation, Wednesday August 19, at Ogunu Golf Resort, Warri, during the welcome dinner of the 2026 Oil and Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria, OGTAN HCD Conference & Expo, emphasized that Warri, represents an important intersection of industry, technical capability, communities, institutions and human capital, hence it became appropriate to bring a national conversation about the future of oil and gas human capital development, to the Oil-City of Warri.

The OGTAN Boss, stressed that the decision to move the HCD Conference from the traditional conference centres of Abuja and Lagos, to a region of talent, enterprise, technical expertise, institutions, communities and enormous human potential, “where the industry lives and works”.

While expressing excitement that the conference is being hosting in collaboration with the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Osarumwense, congratulated winners of the golf tournament played Wednesday August 19, at Ogunu Golf Resort, Warri.
