The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Delta State for the 2027 election, Engr. Isaac Eshor, has intensified consultations with traditional rulers and other stakeholders, seeking royal blessings and guidance ahead of the poll.
Eshor made this known during a courtesy visit to the palace of the Estu Nupe, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, as part of his ongoing engagements with traditional institutions and opinion leaders across the country.
The AAC candidate, who described the traditional ruler as a father figure and long-time mentor, said the visit reflected his respect for traditional institutions and their contributions to peace, unity and sustainable development.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Eshor stressed that traditional rulers remained important partners in nation-building because of their roles as custodians of culture, community values and peaceful coexistence.
He said his consultations were intended to strengthen relationships with traditional institutions and draw on their wisdom and counsel as he prepared to present his vision for Delta State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
“I paid a consultation visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, the Estu Nupe, as part of my ongoing stakeholder engagements across the nation.
“I deeply value the wisdom, counsel and leadership of our traditional rulers, whose contributions to peace and development remain invaluable,” Eshor stated.
The governorship candidate also highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation among Nigerians, noting that his relationships and engagements extended beyond Delta State.
According to him, sustained dialogue with traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders would provide valuable insights into the challenges facing communities and help shape development initiatives.
Eshor said his discussions with the royal father centred on peace, unity and sustainable development, as well as the collective responsibility of leaders to promote the welfare of their people.
“Our discussions focused on the continued peace, unity and development of our people, as well as the collective responsibility we share in advancing the interests and well-being of our communities.
“I remain committed to working with all stakeholders in pursuit of a stronger, more united and more prosperous Delta State,” he said.
The AAC candidate also expressed appreciation to the Estu Nupe for the warm reception and valuable counsel, assuring that he would continue to engage traditional institutions and other stakeholders in his quest to offer development-focused leadership to the people of Delta State.
Eshor’s consultation visit comes after the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) endorsed his candidacy at a stakeholders’ engagement in Abuja, according to the campaign’s account of recent events.
The candidate said the endorsement reflected the confidence he believed young Nigerians were placing in his vision for leadership, economic opportunities and development.
His ongoing consultations form part of his preparations for the 2027 governorship election, as political parties and aspirants continue to engage stakeholders ahead of the contest.
