BEDC Electricity Plc has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of new breaker panels at the Asaba Mains 2×15MVA Injection Substation in Delta State, marking another significant milestone in its ongoing infrastructure transformation.
The project, executed under the leadership of the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Jonathan Lawani, aligns with the company's “Let There Be Light” agenda, focused on strengthening network reliability, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Installation and functional testing were successfully completed on Saturday, 31st October followed by the energisation of the substation's transformers and incomers.
The Koka Commercial 11kV feeder was restored at 8:20 p.m., while four additional feeders—Ezenei, SIO, Okwe and Osadenis—were successfully energised on Sunday, 1st November 2026.
With all five outgoing feeders energised, the upgrade represents an important step towards improving electricity distribution reliability for communities and businesses within the Asaba axis.
Demonstrating BEDC's commitment to prudent asset management, serviceable panels recovered from the previous installation have also been earmarked for redeployment to the Iguomo and Ibusa Injection Substations.
The achievement reinforces BEDC's determination to translate its transformation agenda into tangible infrastructure improvements, enhanced operational performance and better service delivery across its franchise areas.
