Chairman of Host Communities, Oil and Gas, HOSTCOM, Delta State Chapter, Mr. Benjamin Iwetan has denied rumours making the round that the state executive has sacked the chairmen of Ughelli North, Mr. Otuokena Matthew and that of Ethiope East chapter of the association, Mr. Ighoyovwhi Festus.
Mr. Iwetan who spoke to newsmen at HOSTCOM Secretariat along Okumagba Avenue in Warri, Delta State described the purported sack of the two chairmen as unfounded and baseless.
He accused Delta State government of betraying HOSTCOM, claiming that after the state government asked HOSTCOM to withdraw the case it had with the state government, the state government has failed to fulfill its own side of the bargain.
The HOSTCOM boss noted that its major grouse with the state government is the composition of the reconstituted board of DESOPADEC. According to him, the name of Peter Egedegbe, HOSTCOM candidate in the reconstituted DESOPADEC Board has been replaced by another person who is not known by the association.
