The Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Mamman Ibrahim Tsafe has identifiedgrassroots as the most volatile in the police quest at tackling criminalactivities.
Hemade the declaration Tuesday September 6 when he received members of DeltaState chapter of Association of Community Newspapers Publishers of Nigeria,ACNPN, at the police headquarters in Asaba. While advising police officers toremain focus in the protection of lives and properties, the Delta CP warned menof the force to keep off from civil matters.
Hetasked media practitioners to report activities of the police in the mostprofessional manner, just as he noted that he is proud to be associated withpublishers of community newspapers.
Ina brief remark earlier, the interim Chairman of Delta State Chapter of ACNPN,Prince Orhomonokpaye appealed to the Commissioner of police to “use his officeto stop harassment of publishers of community newspaper”, stressing thatmembers of the association are ready to partner the police in disseminatinginformation to the grassroots. He expressed the readiness of publishers ofcommunity newspapers to report activities of the police in the mostprofessional manner.
Onhand to receive members of ACNPN are the Commander 31 PMF Ogwashi – Uku, SPKelvin Zuokumor, the Command PRO, SP Charles Muka as well as Personal Assistantto the State Commissioner of police, ASP Monday Osayi.
