Current National President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor has revealed how he escaped the Naval helicopter crash in Bayelsa State that took the lives of six Nigerians, including former kaduna State governor, Patrick Yakowa and former National Security Adviser, NSA General Owoeye Azazi (Rtd).
Addressing members of his congregation in Warri Sunday December 16, Pastor Oritsejafor who also doubles as National President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria disclosed that “God used a protocol officer” to stop him from entering the helicopter.
According to him, the unnamed protocol officer told him not to enter the helicopter, stressing that he (the protocol officer) “was not comfortable with the arrangement” hence he had to make another arrangement to airlift him.
Pastor Oritsejafor’s disclosure sent members of his congregation into wild jubilation as they sang and danced to the glory of God.
It would be recalled that former Kaduna State governor, Patrick Yakowa entered the ill-fated helicopter following the advice of the late NSA after the aircraft that was supposed to carry him to Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital suffered a delay.
The late former National Security Adviser, Azazi was only recently appointed by the Bayelsa State government to head a committee for the rehabilitation of flood victims in Bayelsa State after he was fired as NSA by President Goodluck Jonathan following the increasing wave of Boko Haram onslaught as well as his unsavoury comment about the ruling PDP.
