Firecracker on Christmas day ate up the right fingers of an eleven year old boy simply identified as Igbunu, Fresh Angle can exclusively report.
Fresh Angle gathered from an impeccable source that Igbunu whose parents are resident in Meshagarun Street in Okumagba Layout, Warri was on that celebration day in-company of his friends at about 3pm at Idiaregbe Street when he attempted picking a firecracker after it was shot by an unidentified resident of the Area. In the process, his right fingers were cut off and he was immediately rushed to Sage Clinic along Okere-Ugborikoko Road in Warri, where a woman who also brought her child for Medicare at the clinic was said to have paid the sum of twenty thousand naira as deposit before treatment was administered on Igbunu.
The woman who pleaded anonymity said she did it because of the pains Igbunu was going through.
Attempt to speak with the parents of Igbunu via their mobile phones were unsuccessful as each time a call is put through their mobile lines are either not reachable or switched off.
Igbunu has already been discharged when Fresh Angle visited Sage Clinic Saturday January 5.
It would be recalled that firecrackers exploded on the face of Delta State FA chairman, Mr. Amaju Pinnick February 14, 2012 at his private residence in Warri and he was flown abroad before the severe damaged on his face was corrected after surgery.
Several buildings accommodating shops and private residences were recently blown up in Lagos following explosions that occurred from a warehouse where loads of firecrackers are kept.
